At the stroke of midnight, on January 1, 2009, I was at my cousin house in Chicago, partying with various friends and family, happy as can be, ringing in the New Year. However, I really did feel invincible that night, and seriously thought my business would take a turn and go beyond my imagination.
My profitable real estate investment firm did indeed go beyond my imagination. It really did. Just not the way I wanted it to. It went from great, to good, to bad. My business shrank so much in 2009, every time I thought it would get better, it got worse.
