They cover, I think, for his government decisions to cut funding of the School Sport Partnership and to sell off playing fields against their own manifesto. It quite contrary to what I see in schools on regular basis which is that schools are very keen on developing sports amongst their children including competitive sports. Of course competition is part of national curriculum, so I think he does teach us and students no service by these remarks. There has been, though, at least in the public perception the idea that in the state sector competition on the playing field as in the classroom has been overlooked for fear of making children feel that they not winners.
